As the 2022-23 football season inches closer to its end, everyone’s attention has shifted to the upcoming transfer window. Once again, major European sides are expected to spend a lot of money in the market. According to the numbers presented by SafeBettingSites.com, Vinicius Junior is the most valuable player in the world, valued at €314.9m.

Kylian Mbappe Far Behind In Second With A Value Of €261.8m

According to the latest CIES Football Observatory transfer valuations, Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid is the most expensive football player. The transfer valuations of football players majorly depend on the length of their contracts; hence, it’s rather challenging to deduce comparable valuations for all players. For these valuations, the CIES algorithm hypothesized all players to be under contracts of a minimum of three years.

Hence, the €314.9m of Vinicius has the caveat that he is signed to a minimum three-year contract. In reality, Vinicius has only a year left in his current deal, and his value in the current transfer market is €196.3m.

Kylian Mbappe of PSG is the second most valuable football player, with a valuation of €261.8m. However, just like Vinicius, his current valuation is just €163.2m since his current contract with PSG runs out next summer.

Erlind Halaand of Man City is the third most valuable player, with a valuation of €245.1m. Since the Norwegian is signed to a long-term contract with City, his actual valuation is the same as the hypothetical valuation. Because of his stable contract, Halaand is also the most expensive player if only current contracts are considered.

Jude Bellingham is the fourth most valuable player with an ideal valuation of €225.3m. His actual price is determined at €190.2m. However, that will likely change as the English midfielder is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund for Real Madrid soon.

Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka is next on the list with a €195.8m valuation. The England international has recently signed a long-term deal. Saka is followed by Barcelona’s youngster duo of Pedri Gonzalez and Pablo Gavi with valuations of €178m and €174.1m, respectively. Both Barca youths are signed to long-term deals with the Catalan club.

Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala is the ninth most valuable player with a valuation of €170.2m. Man City academy star Phil Foden completes the top ten with a valuation of €166.8m.
