Leading professional education provider BPP has selected Brindleyplace as the new home for its established Birmingham operation, following its relocation from Colmore Circus.
BPP, one of Europe’s most recognised education businesses, delivers apprenticeships, short courses and professional qualifications across law, finance, technology and more. Specialists in professional and business services education, BPP provides career focused learning trusted by leading global organisations to deliver measurable outcomes at every stage of development.
As part of its continued investment in the city, BPP has taken 20,000 sq ft of space in 3 Brindleyplace on a 10-year lease — one of the largest office lettings to complete in Birmingham so far this year — as it looks to expand its offering in the city and provide a highly sustainable, modern and flexible environment for lecturers and students in an unrivalled canal-side location.
BPP now occupies part of the ground and first floors of 3 Brindleyplace since its move at the beginning of April. With its own dedicated canal facing entrance, the space provides eleven classrooms with the flexibility to combine smaller rooms into larger teaching spaces, together with online classroom delivery rooms, student support spaces and the latest audio-visual technology to enable exceptional teaching resources. The layout and fit out required by BPP was based on its flagship London study centre at Portsoken Street and the move to Brindleyplace sees students and staff benefitting from this new high-spec space.
Mark Griffiths, BPP Chief Property Officer, said: “Brindleyplace makes complete sense for us – its location is in the heart of a vibrant part of the city, in a private estate, which is transforming into an educational hub. This move is part of our commitment to creating the best possible learning environment for our students.”
“Brindleyplace offers a safe, vibrant and well-connected location, with 24/7 onsite security, excellent transport links, and a wide range of food, retail and green spaces, the location is second to none in terms of both the building space we are taking and the community and events offered of which we will become a part.”
Matt Long, Asset Manager at Praxis, said: “Welcoming such a high-profile educational tenant as BPP to Brindleyplace signals the start of an exciting time for the estate. BPP’s decision to join the Brindleyplace community is a significant endorsement of the quality of workspace and environment being delivered across the estate.”
Knight Frank, Newmark and Savills acted as joint letting agents for Praxis, and Jaggard Macland represented BPP.
