Packfleet offer stocking-busting list of benefits for new drivers this Christmas

New drivers at parcel firm Packfleet will get a haul of benefits that will make Santa greener than an elf’s tunic.

Where Santa only picks up mince pies and sherry, Packfleet drivers will receive free lunch and snacks every day they’re on the road. They’ll also be paid above the Real Living Wage and have access to cost-of-living money-saving benefits through an Onsi card for the duration of their contract.

They’ll also be able to order last-minute gifts for friends and family, with £30 a month to spend at some of the hundreds of merchants who ship with Packfleet – including Pizza Pilgrims, Oh Polly and Hurr. These gifts can then be sent free of charge via a Packfleet courier.

The tech-enabled carbon-neutral courier is expanding its workforce by more than 20% to help tackle the traditional seasonal spike, with a variety of part-time and full-time positions available.

Packfleet is also offering drivers permanent contracts once the Christmas period has finished as they expand their operations beyond the M25.

Each winter the festive period is awash with delivery horror stories and Packfleet their enhanced benefits package is not only the right thing to do but also increases driver performance. Drivers from the likes of Yodel, DPD and Evri have already joined the fast-growing firm, citing the better workplace culture and smart routing tech as the main draw.

The B Corp courier isn’t just leading the way with driver standards – they’re also protecting the planet by powering its fleet of all-electric vans with 100% renewable energy.

Tristan Thomas, CEO and co-founder of Packfleet, said: “During the Christmas period, couriers out on the road rarely get any benefits. It’s cold, dark, and they’re often under pressure to deliver an overwhelming amount of parcels.

“It’s only fair we treat drivers right – especially at a time that’s notoriously busy. That’s why we’re treating our drivers better than Santa. The tech routing software we use makes it easier for drivers to do their job, meaning they are happier and less stressed. No more rushing around London, no more parcels thrown on your doorstep.

“Couriers are the unsung heroes of Christmas. Without them, many of us would be left without presents. The stories we see every year can’t continue, and industry employment standards must be improved. The only driver that gets any recognition is Father Christmas, and we’re determined to change that.”
