HEREFORDSHIRE SITE MANAGER NAMED AS BEST IN THE COUNTRY FOR QUALITY

A site manager at Barratt Homes’ Hawk Rise development in Ledbury has won a top national award for the quality of homes he is building.

Matt Creed (28) has won a Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National Housebuilding Council (NHBC), marking him down as among the very best in the country.

Across the country, site managers working for Barratt Homes’ parent company, Barratt Developments, have won 96 Pride in the Job Quality Awards in total this year. This is the 19th year in a row that Barratt Developments site managers have won more of these awards than any other housebuilder.

Matt has had a six-year career with the housebuilder and has been awarded his first Pride in the Job Award for the high standards set as his development on Leadon Way.

He’s been in the industry for a total of 12 years, having spent the first six as a plumber, before becoming an Assistant Site Manager at the Bishop Fields development in Hereford, another of Barratt Homes’ award-winning sites.

Matt said: “It’s an unbelievable feeling to win my first Pride in the Job award, and I was speechless when I found out. I didn’t think it was real, at first!

“It’s a moment I’ve really pushed for, and I’d like to thank everyone on site for their hard work in achieving this.

“Hawk Rise is a really good development, and there’s a strong morale on site. Everything is completed to a brilliant standard and, whilst there are easier ways to operate, no-one cuts any corners to meet a higher quality and the award shows how valuable that is.”

The awards rate site managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail. The awards celebrate the vital role site managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on-time, on safe sites, and to the highest quality standards.

Every site manager who is registered with the NHBC is automatically entered into the awards, with just 450 winners being selected from over 11,000 entrants, showing how difficult they are to win.

A Barratt Developments site manager, Kirk Raine, was named as the Supreme Winner of last year’s NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards. In January this year, Kirk was crowned as the winner in the Large Builder category for his work managing The Grove at Doseley Park, near Telford. This is the sixth time that a site manager working for Barratt Developments has won the Supreme award in the past eight years.
Adrian Evans, Managing Director at Barratt Homes West Midlands, said: “It’s great news for our customers and the business that Matt has won a prestigious Pride in the Job Quality Award.

“The awards showcase what it takes to be a top site manager and demonstrates our long-term commitment to looking after our customers and building high quality homes. We are very proud to have won more of these awards than any other housebuilder for 19 years in a row now.”

These awards closely follow Barratt Developments being awarded five stars by its customers for satisfaction in the annual Home Builders Federation (HBF) new homes survey. To be rated five star means that more than 90% of its customers would recommend one of its homes to a friend, with Barratt Homes being the only major national housebuilder to be rated five star for 14 years in a row.
