CAMBRIDGESHIRE HOMEBUILDER HELPS FUND OVER 100 HOURS OF CHARITY’S CHILDCARE

Children’s charity, Little Miracles, has received a £1,500 donation from Cambridgeshire housebuilder Barratt and David Wilson Homes to assist with its vital work for young people in need.

The contribution from the leading developer will help fund over 100 hours of childcare for children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions. In doing so, it allows their families to receive the support and guidance they need on what can be a very lonely and scary journey.

With 15 branches across the east of England, Little Miracles supported nearly 30,000 people in 2022. It does this through providing advice, training, activities, safe-spaces and counselling to families with children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.

The donation from Barratt and David Wilson Homes came as part of the Barratt Developments Plc Charitable Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.

Louise Evans, Head of Income Generation at Little Miracles Charity, said: “Demand for our services is increasing dramatically, and donations like this mean that Little Miracles can be there for the growing number of families who reach out to us. In the next three years we hope to be here for around 50,000 people.

“The Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ Community Fund scheme is a fantastic initiative. It’s a lovely idea to have employees choose local charities with a cause that is close to their hearts, and where they can see their money making a real difference.

“We would like to thank Barratt and David Wilson Homes once again for its generous donation which will help to make a real difference.”

Daniel Evans, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire, said: “As a leading housebuilder we strive to support the communities in and around the areas in which we build, and we are delighted to be able to offer Little Miracles a donation to support the fantastic work it does.

“Little Miracles make such a difference to so many lives that need the help most. It is truly heart-warming to see the support, guidance and hope the charity offers.
