Phoenix Heroes is a not-for-profit community interest company based in Colchester. Founded in 2018 by former British Army veteran Gary Stockton, the organisation supports veterans, serving personnel, and their families by providing access to structured outdoor activities including fishing, football, and allotment gardening.
These activities are designed to help support individuals as they transition from military to civilian life, offering a safe and supportive environment where participants can reconnect with others who share similar experiences. By bringing people together through regular, hands-on activities, Phoenix Heroes CIC helps to reduce social isolation and foster a strong sense of community and belonging.
The partnership continues Harron Homes’ commitment to supporting meaningful causes across the region, following a year of fundraising and volunteering for its previous Charity of the Year, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
To launch the new partnership, Harron Homes will be supporting a fundraising effort on 23rd May, when its Operations Engineer, Dan Hoole, takes part in the Three Peaks Challenge. Dan will join a team including Darren Greenfield, former World’s Strongest Disabled Man, Rob Hughes, three-time World Champion Angler and TV presenter, and Billy Billingham of SAS: Who Dares Wins, as they climb the UK’s three highest mountains to raise funds and awareness for the charity.
Matt Barker, Managing Director at Harron Homes North Midlands, said, “We are proud to be supporting Phoenix Heroes CIC as our Charity of the Year for 2026. The work they do to support veterans and serving personnel and their families is incredibly important.”
“With one of our own team members actively involved in the charity, this partnership is especially meaningful. We’re looking forward to supporting fundraising activities throughout the year and helping to raise both awareness and vital funds for the organisation.”
Gary Stockton, Founder of Phoenix Heroes CIC, added, “We’re delighted to be partnering with Harron Homes North Midlands this year. Support like this makes a real difference to the work we do, helping us continue to provide vital services and opportunities for the armed forces community. We’re excited to work together on a range of initiatives over the coming months.”
Dan Hoole, Operations Engineer at Harron Homes North Midlands, added, “Phoenix Heroes CIC has had a hugely positive impact on so many people, and I’m proud to be part of the work they do. Taking on the Three Peaks Challenge is a great way to raise awareness and funds, and it’s fantastic to have the support of Harron Homes behind us.”
Harron Homes invites residents, customers, and partners to get involved in supporting Phoenix Heroes CIC.
