£1,500 DONATION FROM CAMBRIDGESHIRE HOMEBUILDER SENDS LOCAL CHARITY’S TAILS WAGGING

Woodgreen Pets Charity has received a £1,500 donation from Barratt Homes to aid its work rescuing, caring for and rehoming pets, as well as offering advice to owners.

Located near Barratt Homes’ Romans’ Edge development in Godmanchester, Woodgreen provide animals with the expert care they need and a second chance at happiness. Many of the pets who come to the charity have been abandoned and neglected, leaving them with serious medical conditions and complex behavioural issues. Others simply need a new home because their owners cannot keep them anymore.

Woodgreen’s 43-acre site in Godmanchester is one of the largest rehoming centres in Europe. It can accommodate, exercise, and train up to 72 dogs, 123 cats, and over 200 small animals.
The donation came as part of the Barratt Developments Plc Charitable Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.
Stacey Hamilton, Partnerships Manager at Woodgreen Pets Charity, said: “The demand on our services has been higher than ever and we can only continue our work through donations such as this one. Our dedication to helping pets and their people is our top priority and therefore the funds in which we receive can enable us to support, educate and be there in any way we can for pet owners who really don’t know where to turn.

“Barratt Homes’ donation will enable us to continue to support the pets in care, from basic preventative care like flea and worming treatments to microchipping and feeding. There are often many cases whereby the pets need extended medical treatments too and this can really stretch us financially so every penny really counts.

“We are delighted to be supported through the housebuilder’s Community Fund scheme, we thank Barratt Homes and its employees with extended gratitude as we rely heavily on funding to keep our doors open.”

Daniel Evans, Managing Director at Barratt Homes Cambridgeshire, said: “As a leading homebuilder we strive to support the communities in and around the areas in which we build, and we are delighted to be able to offer Woodgreen Pets Charity a donation to support the fantastic work it does.

“To most of us, our pets are part of the family, so it is heart-warming to see charities like Woodgreen looking out for the wellbeing of our small four-legged friends.”
