Taylor Wimpey sponsors the Battle of Evesham Festival
Taylor Wimpey Midlands was a main event sponsor of The Battle of Evesham Medieval Festival, with a £1,500 donation to the event, which took place from 1st August to 3rd August on the Crown and Corporation Meadows, Evesham.
The festival features Europe’s largest 13th-century battle reenactment. This year’s event marked the 760th anniversary of the Battle of Evesham, which took place in 1265 and is recognised as a pivotal moment in England’s political history.
Over the weekend, around 60,000 visitors enjoyed a grand parade, 150 artisan craft and authentic trade stalls, more than 30 food and drink traders, medieval music and dance performances, and a fashion show. The festival also featured two large living history camps, where re-enactors showcased aspects of 13th-century life such as wood turning, metalwork, needlework, and medieval cooking. A new Presentation Pavilion also hosted academic book talks and live music throughout the weekend.
Mick Hurst, Festival Founder and Director, said: “It was an epic three days, with thousands of happy families enjoying full-on medieval mayhem. I would like to thank our team of 80 wonderful volunteers, the 800-plus re-enactors who travelled from far and wide to take part, the traders, councils and sponsors, including Taylor Wimpey. Every one of them played an important role in making sure the event ran smoothly, and many memories were made. Planning for 2026 has already started – it’s going to be awesome!”
Matthew Kendall, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Midlands, said: “We are delighted to have supported this famous Evesham event as a main sponsor. Events such as these are not only fantastic for bringing the community together, but also for educating people about a significant historical event that shaped our country.”
