Searches for ‘Wii sports games’ skyrocket 999% globally following Nintendo’s New Announcement
New analysis of Google search data shows online searches for ‘Wii sports games’ skyrocketed by 999% worldwide, following Nintendo’s Direct Event on the 9th February.
New study by gaming experts SolitaireBliss, found that searches for the original Nintendo Wii console games had risen almost ten times the average searches, according to Google trends data in the past seven days. This rise is expected to be caused after the announcement the launch of the new ‘Nintendo Switch Sports’.
Research had also found an increase in search rate over eighteen times the average Google search for ‘Nintendo wii sports’, showing a rise in interest for the first edition of the brands console.
Commenting on their findings, a spokesperson from SolitaireBliss said, “It’s been fascinating to see the rise in interest for the beloved Nintendo game, following Nintendo’s recent announcement of the new console. The findings show a new spark of interest in the original Wii console games that were a favourite for many across the world. It will be interesting to see if there is an increase in demand for the older model and whether Nintendo will bring back a classic edition of Wii sports for fans who still enjoy the games today.”
This study was conducted by SolitaireBliss, which provides an online gaming service allowing users to play a wide array of card games and challenges.
