Off-plan success at Dandara’s Buntingford development shows demand for market stability

Driven by uncertainty in the fast-changing housing market, independent housebuilder Dandara has experienced high interest in off-plan reservations following the recent launch of the second and final phase of homes at its Keepers Chase development.

The development, located on Aspenden Road in Buntingford offers a diverse range of two, three and four bedroom homes, with the first of the plots ready to move into in Spring. The exclusive collection of just 14 high specification, energy efficient homes have proven popular – with 6 already reserved, the remaining homes are expected to sell quickly.

Rosanne Bullen, Sales Director at Dandara Eastern, said: “It’s brilliant to see such a successful reaction to the launch at Keepers Chase with off-plan reservations on almost half the homes! The majority of our customers have used our Assisted Move scheme, where we arrange and manage the sale of their current home as well as covering the fees of this process – it was brilliant to see such an uptake in this.

“Interest in the scheme has largely been driven by the current condition in the housing market – through the scheme, people have the security of a guaranteed sale and new home, which is like gold for sellers and buyers at the moment who are facing uncertainty.”

Also at the launch was an independent financial advisor to help customers discuss their options. Despite the doom and gloom of current headlines Dean Jacobs, Director of Allegro Mortgages, experienced a record-breaking number of enquiries in the lead up to this weekend’s launch at Keepers Chase.

Dean commented: “It’s an unprecedented time for the property market, but the credit market is looking more positive than people may think, and, once the disparity between the Bank of England rates and lending rates begins to narrow, rates will be start to reduce again. This is good news for the property market, and means there’s still been an incredible demand for our services – with some mortgage lenders reporting having had to unhook phones to have time to process all the business coming in!

“We’ve seen this demand in action at Dandara’s Keepers Chase development – it’s no surprise to see high interest in reserving off-plan, it’s a good fail-safe for potential-buyers since it allows less dependence on the rise and fall in the market, providing more certainty and stability than people think is currently available.”

Located within half a mile of Aspenden Cricket Club, Keepers Chase offers a picturesque lifestyle with excellent transport links. From Ware station it’s a 40-minute train journey to the capital, or from Stevenage station Cambridge can be reached in just 30 minutes.

The appealing market-town of Buntingford features a choice of supermarkets, variety of restaurants and independent shops as well historic Tudor buildings on the high street. For families at the development, there is a choice of local schools providing education from First School until College, and a handy community library.

Roseanne continued, “Buntingford is an ideal location for those looking to move from London to a more rural location, yet remain within convenient commuting distance. These high quality homes are proving popular with a range of buyers ranging from first time buyers to downsizers – we would encourage anyone interested to register their interest quickly!”

Keepers Chase has been designed to reflect the architectural style of the local area with contemporary living. It offers five different property types to suit all buyers and welcoming green space next to the River Rub, perfect for a country walk.
