NOTTINGHAMSHIRE HOMEBUILDER GETS INTO THE SWING OF THINGS AT CHARITY GOLF DAY
A charity golf day arranged by Nottinghamshire developer Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands has raised over £13,500 for its Charity of the Year, Muted.
92 golfers, including Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ employees and sub-contractors, took part in the tournament which was held at Ramsdale Park Golf Centre in Calverton.
Representatives from the men’s mental health charity were welcomed to the event, which has become one of the leading housebuilder’s largest annual fundraisers.
The £6,753 raised on the day has been matched by parent company, Barratt Developments, bringing the total money raised on the day for Muted to just over £13,500.
The tournament was won by Smartroof Ltd and an enjoyable afternoon was had by all in raising money for a fantastic Midlands charity.
Ian Hastings, Co-Founder of Muted, said: “This level of support for our charity is far beyond anything we could have hoped for. This helps us not only carry on with our work and project, but means we can now expand our team and reach so we can provide to so many more at such a difficult time for us all. We will always remain extremely grateful.”
Muted is a Nottinghamshire based charity, made up of a number of people that have at some stage struggled with their mental health. The charity helps others that may be experiencing similar struggles, and everything from the first contact is totally confidential.
It regularly holds events to generate awareness of the importance of mental health, and attends places of work to deliver presentations and toolbox talks totally free of charge.
These events and talks have proven to be very successful and have enabled the charity to reach out to people that may need support, whilst normalising the topic of mental health.
Mark Cotes, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands, said: “We always look forward to our charity golf day as it’s one of the highlights of our fundraising calendar and, this year, it’s a pleasure to be able to support Muted which contributes a great deal to supporting men’s mental health.
“As a leading developer, we strive to contribute towards local charities, and we’re very pleased that our golf day was able to raise over £13,500.”
