The library chose to use the donation to purchase a range of books for a variety of age groups, from Richard Osman’s The Man Who Died Twice, to The Bear and her Book by Frances Tosdevin and Sophia O’Connor.

The library, which is located near the housebuilder’s development The Nurseries, was delighted to receive the donation which allowed them to provide new books for their users to enjoy.

Anne Gilbert, Secretary Friends of Thrapston Library, said: “We were grateful for the donation from David Wilson Homes, which had enabled us to purchase some new publications from across the various genres.
These new books have been very well accepted by the members of Thrapston Library.”

Jason Hearn, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “We hope that our donation will allow residents of Thrapston to enjoy some of the latest and best-selling books.

“In a world that is becoming increasingly digitalised, libraries remain a centre for the local community, providing a hub to gain information and a location for groups to get together.

“As a leading homebuilder, it is important to us to support the communities in which we build and this donation in particular is great for encouraging skills such as reading, writing, listening and creativity for all age groups.
