Grace & Green Lead the Way for Plastic-Free Periods with Quorn Foods Partnership

Grace & Green, the sustainable, female-founded period care company has partnered with Quorn Foods to supply plastic-free sanitary products to the company’s offices and factories across the country and is now calling on more companies to follow the meat-free brand’s lead.

Over 200,000 tonnes of waste can be attributed to period care products like tampons, pads, and their packaging every year—most of this waste being made up of plastic. To make these necessary products more sustainable, founder of Grace & Green, Frances Lucraft, decided to create a new range of completely plastic-free menstrual products that are also organic, biodegradable, cruelty-free and vegan.

Through their partnership with the popular meat alternative, Grace & Green will be leading the march towards sustainable and plastic-free periods for everyone. Quorn offices will be stocked with the period brand’s organic applicator and non-applicator tampons, as well as a range of cotton liners and pads made using premium ingredients for even the most sensitive skin types.

Frances Lucraft, Founder of Grace & Green, says, “We’re thrilled to be supplying Quorn with our range of sustainable, plastic-free period products. As people become more conscious of the plastic waste they create, many of us are looking at the effects our period products can have on the environment. By a big company like Quorn providing plastic-free products to their employees, it sends a clear message that other companies should do the same. Together we can have periods that are better for us, and better for the environment.”

Cath Willers, HR Business Partner, Commercial and International said, “When we were first introduced to Grace and Green, the whole concept and ethos of the company sat hand in hand with what we’re trying to do at Quorn so it was a no brainer for us to partner with them to supply feminine hygiene products across all of our UK offices and factories.

“We have also been able to offer colleagues the opportunity to purchase discounted products for use at home. Not only are the Grace and Green products sustainable in every aspect from packaging to product but they are beautifully designed and feel like a top quality product.”

This initiative will also be helping another key issue surrounding menstrual products, period poverty, which affects 1 in 10 people in the UK. Despite being an essential basic, sanitary products are often one of the first things people go without when money is tight. Through providing free sanitary products in offices, companies are better able to support people who menstruate in their business.

Grace & Green believes that the key to tackling period poverty and championing plastic-free periods lies in large companies assuming a responsibility of care for those who menstruate. The brand hopes that their partnership with Quorn Foods is the first of many similar initiatives with high-profile national companies to join them on their mission.
