Former IBM and Leeds Council Technology Chief Joins the Board at Cybersecurity Scale-Up, BlackDice, in Lead Security Role

BlackDice has appointed Paul Jenkins to the newly created role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Jenkins previously played a key role in the formation of BlackDice in 2019 as Co-Founder, and has returned to the business to focus on our next stage of growth in a combined role as CISO and Data Protection Officer (DPO).

An accomplished industry veteran, Paul Jenkins has rejoined the company bringing a wealth of experience and a renewed commitment to driving innovation and growth. Jenkins was instrumental in shaping BlackDice’s initial vision and played a pivotal role in establishing the company as an AI-driven cybersecurity firm.

Jenkins brings an impressive 30-year background, having most recently served as the Chief Technology Officer for Leeds City Council and NHS West Yorkshire ICB, and previously held senior roles at companies such as IBM, Capita, EMIS, Arcadis and CallCredit. His extensive expertise in information security, gained from managing complex systems in highly regulated environments, makes him the ideal candidate to lead BlackDice’s security initiatives.

As the Chief Information Security Officer at BlackDice, Jenkins will assume responsibility for safeguarding BlackDice’s information assets, managing cyber risk, and implementing robust security measures to protect the company’s customers and their data. He will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive security strategies, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, inclusivity and innovation.

“We’re thrilled to have Paul back on board with the BlackDice family,” said Paul Hague, CEO at BlackDice. “His combined expertise and leadership will fortify our commitment to providing top-tier cybersecurity solutions and ensure that our customers’ sensitive data remains secure. We look forward to Paul’s invaluable contributions in advancing our company’s purpose to build trust in a connected world, and driving success in the ever-changing landscape of cybersecurity.”

For BlackDice, Jenkins will be based at the company’s new UK headquarters in Leeds, West Yorkshire, a rapidly growing ‘hub’ for technology-focused companies.

“BlackDice remains committed to its mission of providing cutting-edge solutions that address the ever-evolving challenges of the connected digital landscape. With the return of Paul as our new Chief Information Security Officer, we are poised to take our security offerings to new heights,” added Hague.
