Santa Claus has been spotted meeting and greeting residents in an Oxfordshire town after an invitation from a local housebuilder.

The festive figure recently visited David Wilson Homes’ Kings Gate and Abbey Fields developments in Abingdon to meet local children in the leading developer’s show homes, and hear what was on the wish lists for all of those on his nice list.

First up for Father Christmas was a visit to the Kings Gate community on Morgan Gate, before making the journey over the road to the Abbey Fields development, located on Bailey Crescent.

Presents were gifted to the children who came to meet Santa, in the form of sweet treats provided by Sovereign Housing Association.

Emma Hawkins, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “It was fantastic to have Santa visit our developments in Abingdon, and we were pleased a number of our younger residents were able to enjoy his visit ahead of the Christmas period.

“Alongside our partner Sovereign Housing Association, we wanted to make sure the festivities were well underway and we hope those in attendance enjoyed their time with Father Christmas, and the sweet treats to take away.”

With less than a week to go until the big day, Santa swiftly left Abingdon and returned to the North Pole to make the final preparations ahead of his extensive journey across the globe on Christmas Eve.

Jenny Bowley, Community Development Officer at Sovereign Housing Association, said: “Sovereign values working with David Wilson Homes to enrich our new communities in Abingdon. It was great Santa was able to spare some time in his busy schedule to bring some sweet treats to our younger residents.”

Building communities as well as new build developments is one of David Wilson Homes’ priorities, and events such as this bring people together at a time when community spirit is at its peak.
