The very well-received movie and exceptional performances starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper earned the 2020 Grammy award for ‘Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media’. With pretty much all the tracks considered a hit, the movie is most notable for the song “Shallow” with a recorded 1,553,036,811 Spotify plays.

Black Panther is the second most popular movie soundtrack with an impressive 2,890,046,926 in plays. The soundtrack for the highly acclaimed Marvel film starring the late Chadwick Boseman has certainly left a lasting impression since its 2018 release with songs from the likes of Kendrick Lamar with “All The Stars” listened to more than 800 million times on Spotify. 

Following in third place is the 1993 Dazed and Confused film soundtrack achieving 1,640,095,153 streams on Spotify. The film has become a cult classic over the years and featured hit rock songs from the 1970s from the likes of Kiss, Deep Purple and Aerosmith.

In fourth place is the 1977 Saturday Night Fever starring the disco icon, John Travolta. Garnering a combined play of 1,522,797,777, the film soundtrack features artists from the disco era, with the iconic Bee Gees giving us “How deep is your love” and “Stayin’ Alive” amongst many others. 

To round off the top five is another quintessential movie classic – Footloose (1984). Racking up 1,487,997,365 in Spotify streams, the movie soundtrack includes the iconic song titled “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins which has over 500 million streams. This song has earned an Academy Award nomination for ‘Best Original Song’ along with “Let’s Hear It for the Boy” by Deniece Williams.
