In celebration of World Photography Day, 19th August, housebuilders Barratt and David Wilson Homes are launching a photography competition*, where entrants can be in with a chance of featuring on the developer’s 2023 calendar, showcasing the local area around Leyland as well as winning a £150 voucher to be spent on photography equipment.

Local amateur photographers and nature enthusiasts can participate by submitting their very best photographs of Leyland and the surrounding area to [email protected]. The competition will begin on Friday 19th August 2022 with a deadline of Wednesday 30th November.

Representatives at Barratt and David Wilson Homes and special guest judges will then review the entries and select 12 winners along with one adult and one junior overall winner (aged under 18-years-old), who will each receive a £150 voucher to be spent on camera equipment.

The competition is being launched in honour of World Photography Day, which is a celebration of the art, science and craft of photography. The day encourages photographers from all over the world to share their photos with one another.

This photography competition is the beginning of a long collaboration between the five start developers in the Leyland and wider Lancashire area, as both Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes are building in the area at their respective Centurion Village developments.

Michaela Lancaster, Sales Director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: “We’re very excited to be launching our photography competition, and to be getting involved with World Photography Day.”

Philippa Stewart, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes North West, said: “We’re excited to see what the local community can share with us about the area through their photography, and we plan to make the 12 best entries into a calendar to share.”

Barratt and David Wilson Homes has a range of homes available for Lancashire property seekers.
