The school, close to the leading housebuilder’s Fernwood Village development near Newark, put the funds towards a couple of outdoor projects in school related to gardening and its nature area, along with some outdoor games and toys for the children.

In addition to this, Chuter Ede Primary School has placed great emphasis on promoting positive mental health with its children following the lockdown periods and the contribution from David Wilson Homes has also enabled the school to purchase items required for its projects.

Rachel Revill, Head of School at Chuter Ede Primary School, said: “We are really grateful for the funding from David Wilson Homes as this has allowed us to buy some extra special things for the children to use in school.”

Helping pupils to expand their learning in an outdoor environment is a key objective of the five-star developer, whilst supporting the school’s efforts to take care of the children’s mental health is another important factor.

Rachael Harrison, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our strong working relationship with Chuter Ede Primary School since we’ve been building new homes at Fernwood Village and we’re delighted to continue this with our £500 donation.

“It’s an absolute pleasure to contribute to the school’s outdoor projects, in addition to its active mental health projects. It’s lovely to hear about its activities as the growth and welfare of the children is always at the forefront of the plans.”

David Wilson Homes is building a variety of two, three and four bedroom homes at its nearby development on Phoenix Lane.
