British women get paid more than men for same work in these jobs

Research done on gender pay gap statistics released by Office for National Statistics, commissioned by CasinoTop10.net, finds that in 15 occupations women are paid more than men in the UK.

The research showed that the female midwives earn 55% more on average than male midwives. Coincidentally, this is the biggest wage gap when it comes to all pay gaps in the country – among both genders. A woman working as a midwife earns on average £20.9 per hour, whilst her male colleagues doing the same job only get £13.49.

Nationally, the gender wage gap persists. Women in the UK were paid just 90p for every £1 earned by a man, according to the latest figures, but not all is so glum.

The second on this list are special needs education teaching professionals. Here, British women earn 25% more than British men. A female special needs teacher earns an average of £22.7 per hour, whilst the men are earning £18.09 per hour on average.

Third on the list is Building and civil engineering technicians. In this profession, the gap is 23% in favor of the British woman. On average, she can expect to earn £15.79 per hour, whilst the British man inky averages out on £12.84 per hour.
