Among those recognised by the National House Building Council (NHBC) for their site management capabilities with a Seal of Excellence award were Tom Czerpak and Henry Patecki, placing them among the best in the UK.
Also named as winners were Zoe Stothard and Nathan Mannion for their developments in Derbyshire, Craig Ison based in Staffordshire, in addition to Dane Mumford and John Brebner in Nottinghamshire.
Each Seal of Excellence award winner is now recognised as one of the top 140 housing site managers in the UK.
Originally from Barwell, Tom Czerpak is overseeing the construction of the David Wilson Homes’ development in Kibworth.
He said: “It feels absolutely amazing to win my first Seal of Excellence award. It’s a great testament to the hard work that my team have put in over the last 12 months.
“At David Wilson Homes at Kibworth, we really care about producing quality homes for people to live in. Winning this award is a real vindication of our approach and I’m really grateful to have been recognised.”
Also being recognised in Leicestershire was Henry Patecki for his work at Wigston Meadows in Wigston. Due to retire in a couple of months, this is Henry’s 20th award, following on from the Lifetime Achievement Award and East Regional Award recently awarded to him.
He said: “2021 has been an amazing year for me. I feel honoured and humbled to have received another Regional award, which is a fitting end to my career with David Wilson Homes.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the excellent team I have in place at Wigston Meadows. We have some incredibly talented tradesmen on site that have worked with me for many years. Special thanks must go to Darren Langton (Construction Director), Ian Bentley (Contracts Manager), John Reddington (Managing Director), Ben Jones (Site Manager) and Damon Stanley (Assistant SM) for their continued help and support.”
All of David Wilson Homes’ Site Managers have their development and management skills judged not only on the two separate marking visits, but regularly by the NHBC building inspectors when they carry out their five-stage inspections.
These accolades rate Site Managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail. The awards celebrate the vital role Site Managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on-time, on safe sites and to the highest quality standards.
Darren Langton, Construction Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “Our Site Managers are on the ground each and every day making sure David Wilson Homes housing developments are operating smoothly and to the high standards we set. We’d like to congratulate all of our award winners for their continued hard work.
“With our employees winning Seal of Excellence awards, it demonstrates the long-term commitment we’ve made to providing our customers with the best possible service.”
This is the 17th year in a row that parent company Barratt Developments has won more awards than any other housebuilder, proving that its housing developments and the Site Managers that oversee them are among the very best in the business.
