Celebrate the Olympic Games with One World, One Guacamole – the Superfood of Champions

The Olympic Games is a momentous occasion on the sporting calendar in which athletes from all continents come together to demonstrate their union and determination through sport. The oceans have united continents even before flying was ever an option and sailing has been a regular fixture at the Olympics, having made its debut as far back as the 1900 Paris games. Team GB has won more sailing medals at the Olympic Games than any other nation, securing 58 in total (with 27 gold) reinforcing the UK as a sailing superpower.

All of the main countries that export and import avocados are surrounded by oceans, the landscape that will hold the keys to glory and disappointment for the sailing teams facing the biggest competitive challenges of their lives at the World Avocado Cup and the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

The avocado is an unparalleled superfood and there is nothing more essential for a healthy diet than including the avocado to counteract the physical challenges of the Olympics Games and the World Avocado Cup Regatta.

To celebrate the start of the Tokyo Olympics and the World Avocado Cup held in San Diego the World Avocado Organization (WAO) has created its most revolutionary and international recipe to date, featuring the all-time favourite snack. With a renewed sense of hope after lengthy pandemic restrictions the ‘One World, One Guacamole’ is the first universal guacamole created to honour the cultures of the world and demonstrate the versatility, diversity and cosmopolitanism of the “fruit of life”.

Guacamole is the king of appetizers in universal gastronomy. Its smooth texture and unique flavour make it the perfect complement to any dish and for any occasion. In addition, it is a mega source of vitamins, minerals and proteins to guarantee good health and for athletes where a balanced diet is essential, provides them with the necessary stamina.
“The Olympic Games have historically united all continents. With this very special guacamole initiative, we wanted to acknowledge this essential ally of athletes but also for anyone who wants to take care of themselves with something rich, healthy and tasty. Avocado is the most desired, versatile and sexy superfood that can be combined in any dish and at any time of the day and with this dish we also celebrate cultural diversity while remembering the importance of a healthy diet”, explains Xavier Equihua, the CEO of the World Avocado Organization.

As a tribute to the countries that will star in the world’s greatest sporting event, and especially to sailors, WAO and brand ambassador, Fooddeco’s Colette Dike, have created ‘One World, One Guacamole’, an unprecedented recipe full of flavours from various cultures. With Team GB blazing a trail at the Olympics currently positioned sixth on the medals table WAO sends heart-felt congratulations to all British athletes competing.
