This December, The Man From Delmonte will celebrate the launch of their new studio album with their biggest reunion show yet, returning to Manchester’s O2 Ritz for the first time in over three-and-a-half decades.

In November 1989, indie-pop outfit The Man From Delmonte played a hometown show at the historic Ritz. 35 years later, the legendary Manchester band are set to return to the venue for their biggest reunion show yet, bringing classics like “(Will Nobody Save) Louise” and “Water in My Eyes” to audiences this festive season, as well as launching their brand new studio album.

The Man From Delmonte reformed earlier this year, playing their first shows together since 1990 and selling out the iconic Band on the Wall within 12 minutes. “Totally stunned by the reaction to the gigs,” said drummer Howard Goody. Now, the band are taking their reunion shows to the next level with a huge album launch party at the Ritz, accompanied by special guests The Mudd Club, Pageant Mum and DJ Phil Korbel.

“The vibe I’m aiming for is like when Twin Peaks came back after 25 years,” said vocalist Mike West on the reunion, “exciting, disturbing and confusing in equal parts.” The launch party will take place on 21st December, and tickets are on sale now.

About The Man From Delmonte

The Man From Delmonte were legendary between 1988 and 1991.

Selling out 3000 capacity venues, hitting the top of the indie charts and booking Inspiral Carpets and 808 State as their opening acts, Mike West, Sheila Seal, Martin Vincent and Howard Goody delivered classic pop tunes, including “Water in My Eyes’ and “My Love is Like a Gift” that were lyrically ahead of their time. Mike wrote and sang about loving men just as easily has he did about relationships with women. The audiences always loved it. The press often treated them with outright biphobia.

After a chance conversation with TV presenter Iain Lee, TMFB are returning to the stage. Their first reunion gig at Band on the Wall sold out in 12 minutes. The Manchester Academy 2 sold out in days. Original manager Jon Ronson (‘The Psychopath Test’, ‘The Men Who Stare at Goats’) flew over from the US to introduce them at the first show and comedian Chris Addison was seen dancing on stage with the band.

Over 600 copies of the double CD reissue of their two albums, ‘Big Noise’ and ‘Good Things in Life’, have been bought by fans desperate to get their hands on anything TMFD related. The O2 Ritz is the biggest gig of the reunion and will be a double celebration. It’s 36 years since they last played at the venue, and it will also mark the launch party for their brand new studio album.
