A Nottinghamshire primary school has received support from Barratt Homes to fund the new kits for its boys’ football team.

The five star housebuilder donated £750 to Gateford Park Primary School, close to its Gateford Park development, to cover the cost of two kits for the Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 pupils.

Following the support from Barratt Homes, the pupils are now able to enjoy their brand new outfits and look ahead to matches against other nearby schools.

Danny Hart, Year 3 Teacher at Gateford Park Primary School, said: “We are extremely grateful to Barratt Homes for the kit sponsorship. After two tricky years, we are delighted to be playing regular fixtures again.

“The kits look fantastic and the boys are very proud to wear them. On behalf of the boys and all at Gateford Park, we thank Barratt Homes for its kindness and support.”

Investment in grassroots football is essential for younger footballers as it helps to keep children active whilst presenting the opportunity to enjoy the socialisation as a team.

Barratt Homes has continued to support the local primary school, having previously run a virtual site safety activity with the pupils to highlight the dangers of building sites in light of the ongoing construction in the neighbourhood.

The kit sponsorship with Gateford Park Primary School is another football-themed contribution to the local community, as it follows the previous year’s donation of mini footballs to the children at Puddleducks Pre-School.
