Visible surgeries are out in 2021

Over the past decade, the demand and availability of cosmetic treatments has expanded significantly. Despite the rising number of patients considering a treatment during the pandemic, there has been a trend away from obvious surgeries. From the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) – which has been advised against by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons – to breast enhancements; it seems that we have moved away from dramatic surgeries, in which the demand for subtlety has never been higher.

New research from Uvence cosmetics reveals that 55% of Brits think that the best cosmetic surgeries and treatments are the ones that you cannot immediately see. Additionally, 3 in 4 Brits agree that cosmetic surgery in the public eye has been taken too far and would rather have a more natural look with their own treatments. Instead, subtle yet effective enhancements are leading the way in the types of treatment we are most commonly seeking.

Leading cosmetic surgeon and CMO of Uvence, Dr. Olivier Amar, discusses how preferences with treatments have changed:

“The cosmetics industry has evolved massively over the past decade. Patients have been able to recognise this when it comes to changing beauty trends, and the diversity of treatments now available in the market. However, one of the most common themes I have noticed amongst patients is the desire for subtle yet effective cosmetic procedures, especially when it comes to skin treatments.

Lots of people are now opting for more natural and subtle tweakments rather than more dramatic surgeries, especially as a result of lockdown. Uvence is an example of a subtle yet effective cosmetic treatment, which offers a natural alternative to synthetic filler treatments. Uvence utilises the regenerative potential of one’s own purified cells for skin rejuvenation, improving the overall texture of skin.

There are an increasing number of patients seeking treatment, especially after the difficulties we have endured through the pandemic. If you are considering treatment, my advice would be to not to rush into anything, and wait for a sufficient amount of time to weigh-up whether treatment is the best option for you. If you are still considering treatment, discussing this with a trusted professional is both helpful and important.”
