David Wilson Homes recently sponsored the Holywell-Cum-Needingworth Annual Village Show near its Needingworth Park development in Cambridgeshire.

The show, which has been part of the community for over 110 years, started as a horticultural show for garden produce but in recent years has evolved into a showcase for a wide range of village interests.

Each year, over 550 exhibits are submitted in sections such as flower arranging, cooking, photography, crafts, wine making and children’s sections.

To continue its outreach to the local community, David Wilson Homes contributed £200 to support the show to help with the running costs including hall hire and prize money.

Grant Williamson, Chairman at Holywell-cum-Needingworth Gardening Club, said: “I was very pleased to learn that David Wilson Homes were helping to sponsor our Annual Village Show. It is an extremely popular part of our local community life and the support that sponsors provide enables us to maintain this long tradition.”

The show fills the Needingworth Village Hall and is attended by large crowds of villagers who are eager to see if they have been awarded a prize.

It’s organised and funded by the village Gardening Club, which has over 190 members.

Ben Kalus, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “We are so pleased to have supported Holywell-cum-Needingworth’s Annual Village Show.

“The day was a big success and we hope that all who attended enjoyed seeing the exhibits on display!”

Needingworth Park is located outside of the bustling town of St Ives, and the stunning village development is positioned within a beautiful countryside setting.

Residents will gain easy access to the A14 and A1, as well as the Guided Busway in St Ives which makes for easy travel to Cambridge and rail links that can get commuters to London St Pancras Station within the hour.
