British startup Veolar Limited, part of the Civil Bio Science Group – the largest supplier of taxifolin (dihydroquercetin) in the European Union and the USA – has announced a strategic partnership with HeilpflanzenWohl AG, one of Switzerland’s fastest growing pharmaceutical companies.

In recent years, HeilpflanzenWohl AG has brought several innovative natural drugs and medical products to market, with taxifolin representing the latest of these. One of the strongest antioxidants available for human consumption, ultra-pure taxifolin’s demand is growing exponentially worldwide due to research showing the positive impact it has against various diseases with associated oxidative stress, including inflammation, viral infections, ischemic heart disease, hypertension, Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Taxifolin is a naturally-occurring compound which can be extracted from different trees and vegetation; its largest source is the Dahurian larch tree which is native to Eastern Siberia. It is one of the world’s most powerful antioxidants and has been scientifically proven to have antiviral properties, including promising early studies which suggest it has the potential to reduce the negative effects of Covid-19. Veolar is providing HeilpflanzenWohl AG with the unique antiviral compound that contains ultra-pure 98% taxifolin. The first product has breakthrough formulation to enhance immunity and resistance to viruses, and contains 98% taxifolin, arabinogalactans, vitamin C and zinc. “This partnership demonstrates the commitment HeilpflanzenWohl AG has to making the best and most compelling natural medical products available to consumers. It further cements our position as leading advocates of health and wellness, which we consider key ingredients for happiness, freedom and prosperity,” said Dr. Hari Sven Krishnan, CEO of HeilpflanzenWohl AG. “Veolar’s ultra-pure taxifolin is a product we are hugely excited by and delighted to be introducing to the DACH region and beyond.”

According to a group of scientists from the University of Basel (André Fischer, Manuel Selner, Santos Nerandjan, Markus A. Lille, and Martin Smiesko), taxifolin is one of the 11 most powerful natural compounds in the world, and is the only one directly available to consumers with the potential to inhibit Covid-19 activity in human cells. Its biggest markets are in Russia and Japan.

More than 700 scientific studies have been published about taxifolin, among which are more than 20 clinical trials in humans. Its use in food supplements and other products has been approved by the European Food Safety Authority.
