Leading all-electric, all-digital car hire company UFODRIVE today announces the appointment of Martin Doran as Chief Financial Officer. Martin brings over 20 years of experience in the financial management of rapidly growing companies in cutting-edge technology markets and will be critical to making UFODRIVE the global standard.

Previously, Martin was interim CFO and principal accounting officer for Vaxxinity – which culminated into an initial public offering (IPO) on the NASDAQ in November 2021. Here, he was essential in managing the rapid growth of this business during a turbulent market period.

Prior to that Martin held finance management roles at Mylan, Pfizer & Oracle, where he honed his expertise in budget control, commercial business partnering and implementing robust financial systems. He holds a BA in Accounting and HRM and a Master’s in Management Information Systems from University College, Dublin and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ireland.

In his new role, he will supercharge sound financial management of UFODRIVE’s rapid and aggressive expansion into the US market, and further expansion into Europe and the United Kingdom. Martin will be essential in helping to not only establish UFODRIVE as the primary all-digital, all-electric car hire company, but also cement its S-a-a-S product as the all-in-one solution for any fleet manager looking to electrify its fleet.

Commenting on the new appointment, Aidan McClean, CEO and founder of UFODRIVE, said: “Martin Doran brings a wealth of financial management experience – from navigating large-scale deals to establishing the micro systems that allow a growing company to live and succeed within its means.

“Martin’s appointment underscores our commitment to not just being a visionary company with ever-growing ambition, but also to stay a well-managed, profitable organisation that will provide value for shareholders and stakeholders alike. Our aim is nothing less than becoming the primary global all-electric car hire company, and the first choice for any fleet manager with EVs. There’s no doubt that Martin will be a great asset in achieving this aim”.

Martin Doran commented: “I am thrilled to be part of the team. Although my experience is mainly from the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, the markets share some fundamental similarities with Electric Vehicles: both went or are going through a global, all-encompassing change, and both vaccines and EVs are essential to tackling major, endemic threats to human life. Here, I can provide the financial management needed to scale a solution to the issue”.
