The Hamburg Cruise Days is the most spectacular cruise festival in the world. So, it is hardly surprising that 135,000 maritime enthusiasts made the trip to Hamburg’s port area to experience this year’s thrilling and moving event, staged over land and water. After a forced break due to the pandemic, a special edition of the internationally acclaimed maritime event took place last weekend at the Northern German port town of Hamburg.

Highlights were the light-up of the atmospheric ‘Blue Port Hamburg’ light installation under participation of the Cunard cruise Liner ‘Queen Mary 2’ on Friday and a spectacular evening show with the cruise ships AIDAprima and MSC Magnifica on Saturday evening. Light, drones and music turned the port into a catwalk for an atmospheric rendezvous of both ships in front of the impressive backdrop of the blue illuminated ‘Blue Port Hamburg’. The ‘Pas de deux on blue’ was a wonderful production and made a statement for the fascination of cruise, the longing for travel and a peaceful togetherness.
