Pupils at Tynsel Parkes CE Primary Academy in Uttoxeter recently received a donation of reflective bag tags from leading developer David Wilson Homes to help them shine bright whilst on their way to and from school for Road Safety Week in November (15th – 21st).

The five star homebuilder gave the school reflective tags for its pupils to wear whilst walking to and from school, ensuring they can be easily seen on the roads as the darker nights draw in.

Road Safety Week runs in November each year and encourages pupils to take action on road safety and shout out for our right to make safe and healthy journeys every day.

Rachel Chandler, Principal at Tynsel Parkes CE Primary Academy, said: “Our children were thrilled to receive their high-vis bag tags. They understand the importance of keeping themselves safe and were keen to wear them whilst walking home. Thanks to David Wilson Homes for providing them.”

Tynsel Parkes CE Primary Academy is located near the homebuilder’s Olive Park development on Stafford Road, and the donation of hi-vis bag tags is another part of David Wilson Homes’ outreach to the local community.

In what’s been a challenging time for schools across the country as a result of the pandemic, the leading developer is as committed as ever to providing support during Road Safety Week and beyond.

Dominic Harman, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “We want to ensure the pupils in the local communities remain visible now the darker nights are here, and our donation has hopefully still encouraged them to safely practice Road Safety Week.

“This is a campaign we actively support each year as we endeavor to help local school children in their efforts to commute on foot, and the tags have proven to be both effective and practical.

“As a result of the COVID-19 crisis, it’s even more important for us to support the local schools in and around the communities we build, so we’re thrilled to have had the chance to support Tynsel Parkes CE Primary Academy during Road Safety Week.”

David Wilson Homes’ hi-vis bag tags have been particularly useful during Road Safety Week, whilst being certain to benefit the pupils in their future journeys to school throughout the winter months.
