Hoylandswaine Primary School has recently received a donation of books from Barratt and David Wilson Homes to support the children’s reading and writing skills.

The school, which is located near the homebuilder’s recently launched Penning Fold and Penning Ridge developments in Penistone, reached out to the developer to see if it could help support its library.

The donation included educational books by Oxford University Press and will support the reading and writing of children from four to six-years-old.

Ian Goddard, Headteacher at Hoylandswaine Primary School, said: “As a school, reading and phonics has been a big priority this year and this book donation has allowed our youngest children to have the best start in their reading journey at Hoylandswaine Primary School. We are very grateful for the book donations, and we look forward to building further relationships with Barratt and David Wilson Homes.”

Gary Chambers, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Sheffield, said: “It’s our pleasure to support Hoylandswaine Primary School with these new books, and we hope the children enjoy learning from them.

“As a leading homebuilder, it’s important to us to make a difference in the communities in which we build, and encourage skills such as reading, writing, listening and creativity amongst local school children.”
