An innovative London-based social media agency has released its first ever edition of the Social Media in Finance LinkedIn Report, which ranks the social media performance of the top 250 finance brands, initially listed by stock valuation, over a one-year period.

The report by Social Tree Global collated 45,000 content posts between May 2020 – May 2021, with key metrics such as total followers, likes, numbers of posts and average likes equating to an overall social engagement score.

With the largest associated social page used to measure finance companies’ social media performance, Barclays plc, Visa Inc. and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Holding came out on top for most followers gained over the period.

When it came to highest average likes acquired during the same timeframe, Itaú Unibanco S.A., JP Morgan Chase, and Banco Bradesco S.A. scored highest. Itaú Unibanco S.A. again ranked highly on overall social engagement score, coming in second just behind Northern Trust Corporation and ahead of American International Group (AIG).
