Sam Smith’s single ‘Writing on the Wall’ charted number two in the list with a total 3,977,515 Shazams worldwide. Released in 2015 for the James Bond movie ‘Spectre’, the song has become the ninth most Shazamed single in Smith’s discography.
‘Live and Let Die’ by Paul McCartney and Wings placed third with 1,938,088. Released in 1973, this iconic single makes it McCartney’s second most Shazamed non-Beatles song. The film, which was the first to star Roger Moore as Bond, made $161.8m at the box office.
Chris Cornell takes fourth place with the Bond single ‘You Know My Name’ released in 2006, for Daniel Craig’s debut as Bond in ‘Casino Royale’. This single has been Shazamed 1,198,912 times globally, making it the most Shazamed song in the singer’s catalogue.
Placing fifth place is Billie Eilish with her single ‘No Time to Die’, the record has had 1,033,404 total Shazams worldwide. The latest James Bond theme song was released in February 2020, however due to the pandemic the film was later released on September 30th 2021, bringing a close to the chapter of Daniel Craig’s last time as James Bond.
A spokesperson from Casino Scores commented on the findings: “The release of ‘No Time to Die’ has broken box office records and made £88 million in the 54 countries where it has launched, so it it’s fascinating to see out of all the James Bond movies, Adele’s theme for ‘Skyfall’ remains the most popular. It’s impressive to see ‘Live and Let Die’ doing so well, compared to the rest of the songs in the top five, which were all released in the past decade.”
