SHEFFIELD CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL RECEIVES £5,000 DONATION FROM LOCAL HOMEBUILDER

The Children’s Hospital Charity has received a £5,000 donation from Barratt and David Wilson Homes Sheffield to support its work supporting children with conditions that require specialist care and treatment.

The Sheffield developer’s donation will go toward funding the charities Helipad Appeal which is part of the wider ‘Build it Better’ campaign which aims to improve the cancer ward, emergency department and helipad facilities at the hospital.

The donation came as part of the Barratt Developments Plc Charitable Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.

Harriet Keynes, Corporate Partnerships Assistant, said: “We are very grateful to Barratt and David Wilson Homes for choosing to support The Children’s Hospital Charity and our ‘Build it Better’ campaign.

“The £5,000 also sponsored three different Snowflakes on The Children’s Hospital and Sheffield City Hall. These light up snowflakes bring so much joy to our patients, family and staff over the festive period.

“Everybody at The Children’s Hospital Charity would like to say a massive thank you to Barratt and David Wilson Homes for the generous donation! It will make a massive difference to the patients, families, and staff of our hospital by donating to our snowflake campaign. We are all so grateful.”

As well as the donation, Barratt and David Wilson Homes Sheffield has chosen The Children’s Hospital Charity as its Charity of the Year, meaning it will be raising funds to support the charity throughout 2023.
