Analysis of Google search data reveals that online searches for ‘IKEA meatballs’ in the United Kingdom exploded 669% on the 27th of October, hours after news broke that IKEA bought the former flagship Topshop Oxford Street store for £378 million.

A new finding by professional kitchen experts Maxima Kitchen Equipment reveals that online interest for IKEA meatballs skyrocketed to almost seven times the average volume in one day for the famous food staple from IKEA.

A spokesperson for Maxima Kitchen Equipment commented on the findings:

“Despite being famous for its furniture and home products, it is fascinating to see the surge in interest for the famous IKEA meatballs.
