Salon booking app Booksy reveals the UK’s top ten most popular beauty treatments in 2021
Booksy, a ground-breaking app that lets you book, pay for, and manage, your next hair or beauty appointment in just ten seconds, has seen downloads soar in 2021, boasting over two million UK users and thousands of new sign-ups each month. Crunching the booking data for the last year unearths some surprising facts about our favourite treatments.
Securing the top spot were customers striving for that summer glow with tanning services taking the number one position as the UK’s most popular regular treatment.
Moving down the top ten and in at number two were nail manicures and, perhaps driven by a rise in social media nail trends, nail art landed at number three.
Number four was Botox as customers opted for the muscle relaxing injections. Back to the nail salon for number five with acrylic nail bookings.
Eyelash enhancements were a popular trend for 2021, with lash lifts ranking at number six and eyelash extensions closely behind at number eight. Taking seventh place were pedicures.
Semi-permanent makeup trend eyebrow microblading was in at number nine and rounding off the top ten was lip augmentation.
Christmas is a busy time for Booksy, with over 40,000 bookings taking place a week in December 2020 and numbers set to rise further in 2021 as customers want to look and feel great at office parties and family get togethers.
Booksy allows customers to access hair, beauty, and wellness treatments in their local area without any of the fuss of back-and-forth phone calls. Once registered and logged in, it takes just ten seconds for users to find and book a suitable, local appointment at a time to suit, streamlining the booking process and saving customers time and hassle.
Book appointments in-app 24/7 across a wide range of services available including hairstylists, barbers, nail salons, beauty salons, massage parlours, spas, tattoo shops, and holistic medicine.
The Booksy app is free to download and use, and customers have the option to search by service type or location, and even find same-day appointments. Users receive appointment reminder notifications and can cancel or amend their booking without having to contact the salon directly.
Elias Weller, Head of Customer Services, said: “We love seeing the variety of appointments booked through our app and the top ten beauty treatments gives us a fantastic insight into what’s hot right now.
“Booksy continues to go from strength-to-strength in 2021 with app downloads and bookings growing at record breaking rates.
“We have also taken on hundreds of new providers and have really exciting expansion plans for 2022.”
Booksy is available to users in the UK and Ireland, USA, Poland, Spain, Brazil and Mexico, and is the brainchild of founders Stefan Batory and Konrad Howard, who started the company after their own personal frustration when trying to book appointments over the phone.
