Pupils at Paddox Primary School in Rugby recently received a donation of reflective vests from David Wilson Homes to help its cross-country club shine bright during darker nights.

The Warwickshire housebuilder gave the school 35 reflective vests for its pupils to wear whilst completing their long-distance runs in and around the school’s grounds.

The vests will come in handy during evenings of low visibility for the cross-country club at the school on Fareham Avenue, which meets on Mondays.

Gemma Knight, PE Teacher and Pupil Leadership Lead, said: “We have kindly been donated a large set of high visibility jackets for our pupils. These will be widely used to ensure the children are visible when they are running on the roads during cross-country club and for our playleaders at lunchtimes.”

Paddox Primary School is located near the homebuilder’s Ashlawn Gardens and The Moorings developments, and the donation of hi-vis vests is another part of David Wilson Homes’ outreach to the local community.

In what’s been a challenging time for schools since the beginning of the pandemic, the leading developer is as committed as ever to providing support and resources for the benefit of pupils close to its new communities.

Rachael Harrison, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “We want to ensure the pupils in the local communities remain visible during the darker nights and we hope our donation will help the pupils at Paddox Primary School shine bright whilst running cross-country.

“It’s important for pupils to stay active and it’s our pleasure to help the staff members at the school in their efforts to encourage pupils to channel their physical education.”

David Wilson Homes’ hi-vis vests will be particularly useful during the winter, whilst being certain to benefit the pupils in their future efforts.
