Petroplan appoints new Chief Executive Officer

Specialist energy talent acquisition group, Petroplan, has appointed Christopher Honeyman Brown as Chief Executive Officer to lead the group’s global operations.

A widely respected professional within the accounting, law and education space, Christopher’s appointment signals a new era for Petroplan as the Group begins to move at pace, accelerating, adapting, and sharpening their service offering.

Prior to becoming Chief Executive, Christopher was appointed as non-executive Director of Petroplan Holdings Limited in 2018. His proven leadership capability in large and complex organisations – having undertaken four major change programmes during his career – ideally positions him to deliver Petroplan’s vision for growth.

On his appointment, Christopher commented: “I am delighted to take on the role of CEO during what is expected to be an exciting time for the business. We’re on the cusp of a major transformation to provide a best-in-class service to our candidates, clients, and stakeholders.

“Too often the recruitment industry can be impersonal, but the best solutions are where we meet our clients needs and are able to inspire and encourage candidates. At Petroplan, we are building a community, a family, a place where candidates can go for advice and opportunities. We nurture our candidates and relationships for life, not just to fill a vacancy.”

Christopher’s breadth of experience spans 50 years including his role as CEO for Alsop Wilkinson, which during his tenure later became DLA Piper following a successful merger with Dibb Lupton Broomhead.

He was then CEO of asb law, and appointed Chairman of publishers Hennik Group Limited in 2015 all while serving as a Governor for Stowe School from 1993 to 2016, the last nine years as Chairman. During his career, he has supported numerous organisations as both an advisor and executive with a focus on improving business performance.

Christopher added: “My experience of business transformation and building effective high performing teams is key to delivering our strategy effectively and quickly. I want to develop a high performing team of recruitment specialists who are experts in the energy industry, and able to provide imaginative solutions to our clients.”

He continues: “There is something very special about moulding together a team of highly talented people in a collaborative and consultative environment and helping them to deliver a business performance which exceeds their expectations.

“Changing our culture, focusing our efforts, improving our systems and processes, and recruiting and retaining a group of talented people are all challenging but immensely rewarding, and I look forward to sharing our successes over the coming months.”
