As part of its ‘Never the Same Again’ programme, M&S Clothing & Home is accelerating its move to trusted value and nowhere does that matter more than Kidswear – particularly Schoolwear.

M&S has been selling uniforms for over a hundred years and has a 20% market share – selling around 3 million pairs of school trousers, 5 million school shirts and 2 million polos each year.

According to Mintel research, back-to-school spending is the third biggest retail spending event, after Christmas and Black Friday. Usually around 40% of all schoolwear sales take place during the school summer holidays (July & August).

2020 marks a back to school year like no other – as many children have been out of uniforms for almost six months. On average, kids grow around 6cm a year between the ages of 6 and 12 years old – so there will be plenty of need for an update.

M&S has adapted its Back to School 2020 offer so that this summer parents can shop with confidence for their little ones – both in store and online…

Alex Roythorne, Buying Lead for M&S Kidswear said, “Parents have had a difficult few month with millions juggling work and home schooling, amongst many other challenges. This year for Back to School our aim is to make it as easy as possible – with a great 25% off promotion, easy to use measurement guides and the trusted quality products parents expect of M&S.”
