Analysis of 93,000 funerals over the last 12 months, today reveals the top funeral songs.

The most popular song “Time to Say Goodbye” by Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman which jumped five places to the top spot.

The top ten represents a diverse range of songs as popular choices which honour loved ones and give that a meaningful farewell.

The analysis, from Co-op Funeralcare, sheds light on the power of music to evoke emotions and reflect personal connections.

Looking ahead, 18% of us would like a sad song that would fit the occasion of their funeral, while 53% would prefer an uplifting song to make their funeral a celebration. 37% would choose a humorous song to lift the mood.

89% say they find the lyrics of the song to be very significant – helping them to make their decision. 18% would select a song related to their favorite pastime or hobby.
