Local Housebuilder’s Donation Enables Purchase Of New Reading Materials At Staplehurst School

David Wilson Homes, the housebuilder behind the Dickens Gate development on Marden Road, has recently donated £550 to The Staplehurst School. The donation will be used to purchase a wide range of books for pupils in the younger years.

The donation has allowed for the school to purchase recently released reading materials specifically for learning phonetics, which is a key component in the current early learning curriculum. Recommended by the British Dyslexia Association, many of these books added to the school’s collection to support a wide range of pupils at all levels and speeds which is crucial for young readers and development of literacy skills.

With the recent return of pupils to the classroom, these books are an essential part of the children’s in-school learning and can now be utilised in person to help stay on track with writing and reading targets.
