Local homebuilder supports children’s hospice with £1,000 donation

Local homebuilder, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has continued to support the communities in which it builds by donating £1,000 to Martin House Children’s Hospice as part of The Barratt Foundation’s Community Fund initiative.

Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, has supported Martin House as part of The Barratt Foundation’s Community Fund initiative which sees the homebuilder donate £1,000 to a registered local or national charity each month.

Martin House provides specialist palliative care, including respite breaks, emergency and symptom control, and end of life care, both at the hospice and in families’ own homes. With the help of the Community Fund, Martin House will be able to provide vital care to children and young people who have life-limiting conditions, which leaves them with serious and complex needs.

Ian Ruthven, Managing Director of Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, said: “We are always looking for ways to continue to support the communities in which we build, so we are thrilled that we were able to support Martin House Children’s Hospice through our Community Fund.

“We look forward to working with more charities and organisations across the region who will benefit from our Community Fund throughout 2021.”

Rowan Simpson, Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser, Martin House Children’s Hospice, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the kind donation from Barratt Developments Yorkshire West. It has been an incredibly difficult time for charities over the last 18 months, so this donation will help us to continue to provide vital care to children and young people with life-limiting conditions.”

Barratt Developments Yorkshire West is now accepting nominations to its Community Fund for the months of October, November and December. Registered charities that would like to apply for support from the homebuilder are invited to email their applications to [email protected] by Friday 10th September.
