Little things to do with little ones over Easter
With Easter on the horizon, it is time to get cracking and stock up with activity ideas to ensure little ones don’t get bored or just sit around eating chocolate. Here, Gabriella Egleton, Brand Marketing Manager, Bebeto sweets offers her top five tips for an ‘egg-citing’ break with the children.
Alternative egg hunt
Easter egg hunts can be very quick to complete so why not give the event some longevity? Go on a pebble hunt and collect a selection of stones for the children to paint or decorate. Once these have dried, hide them around the garden for an all-weather friendly Easter ‘stone’ hunt.
Nature walk
Spring is the time of new life so why not get outdoors and go on a nature walk? See how many things you can spot as a family that only spring brings, like daffodils and new leaves on trees. If you are lucky enough to live rurally you might even see some baby lambs bouncing around.
Be an egg head
Don’t let your little one’s brain totally switch off over the holiday; create some fun activities for them to partake in where they continue to learn – yet aren’t aware they are. From counting the number of eggs they have received to identifying the 2D and 3D shapes the eggs are packaged in, it’s easy to cram in some extra maths. Every day’s a school day.
Don’t get left out
Let’s face it, a lot of us don’t understand the concept of leftover chocolate, but some households will find there’s an excess. Any bars or boxed eggs that haven’t been opened could be donated to a food bank and the half-eaten ones can be used in cookery recipes. If you’re not into baking, you could melt the chocolate and pour over some fresh fruit or even grate some as sprinkles over ice cream. Yum!
