LEICESTERSHIRE SCHOOL GRANTED FRIENDSHIP BENCH FOR ANTI-BULLYING WEEK
In recognition of Anti-Bullying Week, David Wilson Homes has donated a friendship bench to Ridgeway Primary Academy in Market Harborough.
The school, which is located near to the housebuilder’s Burnmill Grange development on Burnmill Road, received a bench which reads: ‘We sit, we chat and ask each other questions. We leave as friends, with all good intentions’, for the pupils to use as a space to sit and talk with their friends.
Anti-Bullying Week – which takes place from Monday 14th to Friday 18th November – is led by Anti-Bullying Alliance, which is a coalition of organisations and individuals, with the aim to create safe environments for children to learn, play and flourish without judgement or scrutiny.
Dave Turner, Head of School at Ridgeway Primary Academy, said: “This has made a lovely addition to our Reception playground. The children will love being able to sit and have some quiet time with their friends. Thank you to David Wilson Homes for their generosity.”
The bench will be a permanent feature for the school, and will help its pupils to continue to spread kindness and talk to one another for years to come.
Rachael Harrison, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “At David Wilson Homes, we support Anti-Bullying Week and everything it stands for in terms of promoting positive mental health among school children.
“We hope that Ridgeway Primary Academy is able to make great use of the bench for many years to come and that it acts as a landmark for pupils to talk openly with staff and their peers about how they’re feeling.”
David Wilson Homes’ Burnmill Grange development is edging closer to completion with the final homes now available.
