LANCASHIRE SITE MANAGERS NAMED AS BEST IN THE COUNTRY FOR QUALITY

Two site managers at Barratt Homes’ developments in Lancashire have won top national awards for the quality of homes they are building.

Ralph Heaton (56) and Eion Reynolds (39), have won Pride in the Job Quality Awards from the National Housebuilding Council (NHBC), marking them down as among the very best in the country.
Across the country, site managers working for Barratt Homes’ parent company, Barratt Developments, have won 96 Pride in the Job Quality Awards in total this year. This is the 19th year in a row that Barratt Developments site managers have won more of these awards than any other housebuilder.

Eion Reynolds has won his second award in as many years for his work at Centurion Village in Leyland. Although the site itself has only been active for two years, Eion has worked for Barratt Homes for just over nine years.

When discussing his Pride in the Job Quality Award, Eion said: “It’s a very good feeling to have won this award, I’m absolutely made up with it. A lot of hard work built up to this and ultimately, it’s the incredible team at Centurion Village that put me in the position to win it.”

On the other end of the spectrum, Ralph Heaton has been given his 18th Pride in the Job Quality Award in what has been a remarkable career spanning over four decades with the housebuilder. This is his third award whilst working at Bowland Meadow in Longridge and, as well as Pride in the Job Quality award, Ralph has also previously won six Seal of Excellence accolades.

Ralph said: “To earn this recognition once again of our hard work and dedication at Bowland Meadow, I’m over the moon with it. We have a great team both in terms of sales and site members that contribute a tremendous amount to the overall quality of work. Consistency is key and the team is consistently excellent.”

The awards rate site managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail. The awards celebrate the vital role site managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on-time, on safe sites, and to the highest quality standards.

Every site manager who is registered with the NHBC is automatically entered into the awards, with just 450 winners being selected from over 11,000 entrants, showing how difficult they are to win.

A Barratt Developments site manager, Kirk Raine, was named as the Supreme Winner of last year’s NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Awards. In January this year, Kirk was crowned as the winner in the Large Builder category for his work managing The Grove at Doseley Park, near Telford. This is the sixth time that a site manager working for Barratt Developments has won the Supreme award in the past eight years.

Rhys Nicholson, Managing Director at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: “It’s great news for our customers and the business that Ralph and Eion have won prestigious Pride in the Job Quality Awards.

“The awards showcase what it takes to be a top site manager and demonstrates our long-term commitment to looking after our customers and building high quality homes. We are very proud to have won more of these awards than any other housebuilder for 19 years in a row now.”

These awards closely follow Barratt Developments being awarded five stars by its customers for satisfaction in the annual Home Builders Federation (HBF) new homes survey. To be rated five star means that more than 90% of its customers would recommend one of its homes to a friend, with Barratt Homes being the only major national housebuilder to be rated five star for 14 years in a row.
