Jack Stein x Kricket | The Seafood Odyssey Series Launches at Rick Stein Restaurants

Seafood lovers – this one’s for you! TV chef Jack Stein is teaming up with co-founder & executive chef Will Bowlby of acclaimed Indian restaurant, Kricket, for a limited-edition six-course feast at Rick Stein Barnes on Thursday 10th October (7pm). Marrying the best Cornish catch with the vibrant flavours of the Indian subcontinent, the dinner will be hosted in London’s leafy Barnes, overlooking the Thames.

This is the first event in the newly launched Seafood Odyssey Series, where chef director Jack collaborates with leading chefs and foodie friends at Rick Stein Restaurants across London and the south, celebrating the nation’s love of fresh seafood and produce from the Cornish coast, with innovative twists and global influences.

Will and Jack have co-created a menu packed with Indian-inspired seafood favourites, which kicks off with Kricket’s signature street food snacks including fried idli – a fermented rice cake with cured mackerel, miso and Bengali lime and a mirchi vada – potato-stuffed chilli fritters with goat’s curd, tamarind and coriander. Continue the flavour packed adventure with courses such as Steins’ take on the popular Goan seafood delight, mackerel recheado, with crispy pan-fried mackerel stuffed with the quintessential spice paste, plus a showstopping Goan lobster with parathas. There’s also Kricket crowd-pleasers including garlic butter crab and pahadi trout with burnt green tomato chutney. Round off the meal with a classic dessert from Rick Stein Restaurants, the cardamom shortbread with mango fool. Tickets also include a welcome cocktail from SOMA, Will’s speakeasy cocktail bar.

Tickets for 10th October including a welcome cocktail are priced at £80 per person (additional drinks and service not included in the price). Wine recommendations will be available from Rick Stein Restaurants’ Director & Head of Wine, Charlie Stein, on the night.

£10 from each ticket will be donated to charity. £5 to One Feeds Two (a non-profit charity donating meals to children living in poverty supported by Rick Stein) and £5 to Apne Aap Women’s Collective (Kricket’s long term charity partner which is an anti-trafficking organisation that serves the women and children of Kamathipura in Mumbai).
