‘GROVE’ TO THE MUSIC: VILLAGE FESTIVAL MAKES A SUCCESSFUL RETURN

A popular village festival recently returned to Oxfordshire for members of the county’s communities to enjoy the entertainment and merriment.

The Grove and Wantage Extravaganza, dubbed The Big Picnic, made a comeback and treated residents to live music, a funfair, circus workshop, dog show, falconry and fireworks, with food and refreshments served throughout the afternoon and evening.

Leading housebuilder Barratt and David Wilson Homes was among the sponsors of the event and contributed £1,000 towards the entertainment on the day, as part of its support for the local community close to its upcoming Brookside Meadows development on Denchworth Road.

The event, which continues to grow in popularity and typically attracts more than 3,000 people each year, brought a variety of communities together and delivered another joyous occasion for those visiting Grove Rugby Club on the day.

It’s the second consecutive year that Barratt and David Wilson Homes has supported the Grove and Wantage Extravaganza, recognising the importance of strong community relationships built by the five star developer.

Campbell Gregg, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “We’ve been building new homes in Grove for a number of years now, and we’ve heard excellent feedback from our customers about the Grove and Wantage Extravaganza.

“It’s important that community events such as these can continue to go ahead, and we’re happy to provide our support to help the organisers put on another fantastic occasion for local residents.”
