FOOD FESTIVAL SECURES TASTY SPONSORSHIP FROM SOUTH YORKSHIRE HOMEBUILDER

Barratt and David Wilson Homes recently sponsored Fox Valley’s annual Food and Drink Festival that welcomed a record 16,000 people over the weekend.

The two-day event hosted 60 regional street food traders, all of which offered gourmet dishes from around the globe, as well as a range of sweet treats and fresh produce. A packed programme of entertainment was provided alongside the mass of cuisines for all to enjoy, including children’s rides, free glitter tattoos, a bar area and live music hosted in two stage areas at the centre.

Fox Valley Shopping Centre is located near Barratt Homes’ Penning Fold and David Wilson Homes’ Penning Ridge developments in Penistone, and the sponsorship is another example of the housebuilder’s commitment to supporting the local community.

During the Food and Drink Festival, Valley Music Festival hosted its annual performances in the bandstand on the Saturday, and brought live music to the nearby restaurants to create a fantastic atmosphere throughout the whole centre.

Claire Biltcliffe, Centre Manager at Fox Valley, said: “It was an amazing two days with a record footfall of over 16,000 people, creating a really great atmosphere across the centre, with most traders selling out by 4pm.

“The Fox Valley team have all worked really hard to make the event run smoothly and we have had loads of great feedback from customers.

“I just want to say a big thank you to all the fabulous street food traders that joined us and a big thank you to our sponsors, Barratt and David Wilson Homes, Stocksbridge Town Council and to the Mayor of Stockbridge, Cllr Mark Whittaker, for opening the event on Saturday.”
