Flood-risk businesses offered free access to online help

WITH flood warnings in place across several areas of the UK, a free online toolkit for businesses at risk from flooding is being offered by an innovative insurance broker.

RAW Insurance has made the information available free of charge to help firms prepare and plan for potential flooding – and know the steps to take if the worst happens.

Until now, the Business Flooding Toolkit has only been available to RAW Insurance clients but directors Ryan Roberts and Stephen Ward decided to open up the access to help as many businesses as possible.

Stephen said: “It’s a difficult enough situation for businesses at the moment with the impact of the Covid-19 restrictions, without the added threat of flooding, which is currently affecting many parts of the country.

“We hope that by making our online portal available to as many businesses as possible, it will provide some support for anyone who is looking for information or advice.”

The Business Flooding Toolkit is part of a range of downloadable business support documents available from the ‘More from RAW’ online portal. Information on health and safety, Covid-19 restrictions, HR, and a guide to launching a start-up business are also available.

Ryan said: “It’s a fantastic resource for anyone who wants quick and easy access to a range of online resources across different business sectors. People can get in touch with us via email, phone or social media if they’d like access to it.”

Established by Ryan and Stephen almost three years ago, RAW Insurance is based in Cumbria and operates across the whole of the UK.

RAW was also the first in the country to offer FloodFlash, a specialist policy which allows businesses to control how their property is covered without the need for lengthy loss assessments or proof of damage.

Ryan said: “A FloodFlash policy guarantees to give flood cover for any business, regardless of whether they have been flooded in the past. No property is blacklisted.”
