Designit, the Wipro-owned global experience innovation agency, has bolstered its creative team in its Copenhagen studio with the appointment of Mikkel Lemvig as creative director, and the promotion of Niklas Mortensen to head of design.

Lemvig will report to head of studio, Frida Setterberg, while Mortensen will step into the European leadership group reporting to Designit CEO Nic Parmaksizian.

The appointments are a clear sign of intent for Designit as it looks to turn its Copenhagen studio into the global centre of brand experience and visual identity excellence for the agency.

Lemvig is a decorated brand and visual identity designer, and his remit at Designit is Europe-wide, working with clients including Novo Nordisk, European Payments Initiative and Nybolig. His mission is to help grow brand equity for clients, through seamless, distinctive, and bold brand experiences. He will also be key in promoting brand narratives and enhancing clients’ visual communication.

He joins Designit after seven years at Kontrapunkt, and his experience includes award-winning rebrand projects for the likes of Ørsted and Velliv as well as working with The Danish Parliament.

Meanwhile, Niklas Mortensen has been promoted to head of design, after serving as Designit’s Nordic managing director for just over a year. Based in the Oslo office, Mortensen was responsible for coordinating commercial and operational outputs in the region. He also played a vital role in the development of Designit’s Innovation Lab. Prior to his work with Designit, Mortensen made up part of the advisory board at video engagement company VIBBIO, and acted as chairman for development agency Solvr AS.

Nic Parmaksizian, CEO commented: “In nearly a decade at Designit, Niklas has only ever impressed. His knowledge of the business and his ability to foster collaboration makes him the ideal candidate to team up with Mikkel in Copenhagen and realise our goal of making this office the go-to place for experience design throughout the world.”

Frida Setterberg, head of studio, said: “Mikkel’s track record speaks for itself – he’s got deep experience and industry knowledge and he’ll be bringing of that to our clients now and in the future. His skills are a perfect fit with wider ambitions and growth strategy.”

Mortensen added: “We’ve got ambitious plans for the Copenhagen studio as we look to position it as our global centre of brand experience and visual identity excellence for the agency. There’s a seriously talented team here and the addition of someone of Mikkel’s reputation is a real demonstration of our pull as an agency but also where and how we want to grow.”

Lemvig said: “Designit’s commitment to innovation, creativity and sustainability was the most compelling factor in this move. I know that Designit will allow me to bring my visual and verbal storytelling skills to the fore. I look forward to evolving our clients’ brand experiences in close collaboration with the talented and multidisciplinary design team.
