Its only 40 days until Christmas, and Speedy Freight, the national same day courier brand, is gearing up for the liveliest Christmas ever.

With the festive season approaching, families are rushing to make sure they’re all set for a comfy Christmas with Speedy Freight reporting that deliveries of household furniture, in particular sofas, are up by 300% compared to 2020.

And, it seems waiting is definitely off the Christmas list for 2021 – demand from retailers promising customers same day delivery has increased by 556% vs October 2020. With the media reporting stock shortages, many consumers are rushing to get a guaranteed Christmas.

They say trends come in cycles, and it looks like the UK is back on their bikes. One of the hottest gifts on everyone’s wish list, Speedy is gearing up to deliver 270% more bikes this Christmas than previous years.

With many retailers feeling the pressure to keep up with demand, wholesalers and retailers across the county have called upon Speedy Freight for a helping hand. Delivering with their signature white glove home delivery service, and same day multi-drop services, Speedy promises to be Santa’s little helper.

However, the message from Speedy Freight is clear. Don’t panic, the logistics industry is going strong and is pulling together to keep Britain moving.

Media outlets have been reporting on the HGV driver shortage for months, but Speedy are confident that can save Christmas. With an extensive and dedicated network of drivers, Speedy are pulling out all the stops to lighten the load. From splitting stock into smaller vehicles, to working with their network to place drivers and tractors to pull trailers, no gift will be left behind this Christmas.

Speedy Freight’s import and export expert Shona Brown is confident that all goods being imported into the UK this golden quarter will move freely, as a result of the government delaying import declarations until January 2022 when the real Brexit takes place.

Operations Director, John Munnelly said: “Here at Speedy Freight we offer end to end logistics solutions, we’re problem solvers and look to think out of the box to solve logistics challenges. We’re confident and don’t believe consumers need to panic buy. We’re working with retailers to delivery to homes right up to 23.00 on Christmas Eve, but don’t worry, we won’t get in the way of Father Christmas and his Reindeers.”

House builders are racing to complete homes ahead of Christmas day. With demand fully back on track to pre-pandemic Christmas period, Speedy are on hand to move anything, from plant machinery to bathroom tiles to make sure families can wake up in their brand-new homes this Christmas.
